I’ve been writing stories for as long as I can remember. In fact, my first job was as a newspaper columnist. I was in high school at the time and my “beat” was high school news.
With the high rejection rate writers must endure, compounded with my fragile ego, I didn’t pursue writing as a career. But a very wise friend told me I shouldn’t write unless I have to. Initially, I thought that meant don’t write at all. Now I know better. It means, don’t write unless I have to. And I have to.
I write a weekly column: DeLayed Reaction with various ramblings on a variety of topics. The heart of a teacher must beat deep inside me because I love imparting knowledge–in a fun way.
And sooner or later, I’ll finish my novel.
